Before You Arrive
Once you book, you will get a confirmation text with all the details. We will send a friendly reminder 48 hours before your appointment asking you to confirm or reschedule if something comes up.
A few things that help us take great care of you from the start:
Consultation form — we will ask you to fill out a short online form before your visit. It helps us understand your hair history and your goals so your stylist can hit the ground running the moment you sit down.
Clean hair for color — for color appointments, come with clean hair, free of heavy product buildup.
Timing & parking — arrive about 5 minutes early. Parking is easy throughout the center, and we are located two doors to the right of Bonefish Grill.
Inspiration — if you have inspiration photos, bring them. If not, no worries. Our Instagram is full of ideas, and your stylist will help you find exactly what you are looking for.
When You Arrive
You will be greeted by Miranda, our Salon Coordinator. Her entire focus is making sure you feel at home, every question gets answered, and your visit runs smoothly from start to finish.
Help yourself to something from our coffee and snack bar. Then settle in.
If you want to talk, we are all in. If you would rather put in headphones and read, we get that too. Need to get some work done? Bring your laptop, we have everything you need to make this your instant in-salon office for a few hours.
This time is yours.
Your Consultation
Your stylist will bring you back for a personalized consultation before anything touches your hair. This is where we map out exactly what you want, talk through your hair history, and make sure you both have the same picture in mind.
We do not rush this part. It is the most important part.
What to Expect From Your Service
Every appointment at West Coast Hair Design is built around one thing: results you love, not just today, but every day until you come back. Your stylist will finish your service with a full style and walk you through exactly how to maintain your color and recreate the look at home.
We are an exclusive Bumble and bumble salon, and we recommend their products to every client we serve. Your stylist will point you toward exactly what your hair needs — nothing more.
Between Visits
Here is a general guide for how often most clients come back. Your stylist will give you a recommendation specific to your hair at your appointment.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
Cancellations
Your appointment is reserved exclusively for you. Color services can require 2 to 5 hours of your stylist’s time, so we ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. We appreciate it more than you know.
In the Salon
For the comfort and safety of everyone in the salon, we ask that children not accompany you unless they are receiving a service.
First appointments are one of our favorite things. We have a feeling this is the start of something worth coming back for.
Common Questions
How long does a first appointment take at West Coast Hair Design?
It depends on the service. A haircut appointment typically runs 60 to 90 minutes. Color services including balayage, highlights, and gray coverage packages generally require 2 to 5 hours. When you book, you will receive a confirmation with your appointment details. If you are unsure how much time to set aside, call us and we will walk you through it before you commit to a time slot.
What should I wear to my first hair color appointment?
Something you do not mind getting a little product on around the collar. We provide a cape, but color occasionally makes contact with clothing near the neckline. A shirt with a lower or wider neckline also makes the service easier for your stylist. Beyond that, wear whatever makes you comfortable.
Do I need to do anything before my first appointment?
Yes, two things. Fill out the short online consultation form we will send after you book. And for color appointments, arrive with clean hair free of heavy product buildup. That is it.
How do I know which stylist to book with?
A great place to start is our Stylists page, where you can read about each team member and their specialties. If you are still not sure, call us. Miranda, our Salon Coordinator, knows every stylist’s strengths and can help match you to the right fit for your hair goals.
What if I do not know exactly what I want?
That is exactly what the consultation is for. Come in with a general direction — whether that is lighter, lower maintenance, better coverage, or just something different — and your stylist will take it from there. Inspiration photos help but are not required.
