Heather Lucas: Master Colorist. Education Director. House of Bumble Collective Member.

Heather has a way of making you feel like she’s been doing your hair for years, even on your first visit.
She is one of thirty stylists in the country chosen for the Bumble and bumble House of Bumble Collective, selected by the brand to lead professional education at its most prestigious shows and events nationwide. She is also a Certified Redken Colorist and our Education Director, and the person our entire team turns to when a color question does not have a clear answer.
Credentials only tell part of her story.
Finding a new colorist is one of the most vulnerable things a woman can do with her hair. You are trusting someone with something that affects how you feel every single day. Heather understands that. It is why she calls before your first appointment, why she asks the questions no one else asks, and why guests who find her tend to stay for years.
The consultation that changes everything
Guests who have seen colorists all over the world sit down with Heather and say it is the best color experience of their lives. Not because of what she does to their hair, but because of what happens before she touches it.
She calls new guests before their first appointment just to introduce herself and ask if they have questions. She asks them to bring photos of their hair when they loved it most. She studies their hair in natural light, asks about their lifestyle, their history, what has worked and what has not. By the time color is applied, the guest already knows exactly what is going to happen and why.
That clarity is rare. Heather has made it her standard.
Praise for Heather
“I’ve been attending West Coast Hair Design since I moved to Jacksonville a few years ago. I love Jacksonville, but was concerned about finding a stylist after having been spoiled in more metropolitan cities, London, Tokyo, San Francisco. Heather Lucas is the most experienced colorist I’ve had the privilege to book in my entire hair journey.”
— Google review, Jacksonville
“Heather and Anna Hendrix-Carter are the two people I credit most for building what West Coast Hair Design has become.”
— Linda Deason, Owner.
The work itself
Balayage, foils, gray coverage, gray blending, dimensional brunettes, complex blonding. She approaches every service with the same depth and the same precision. Guests describe her as someone who understands what they want even when they cannot quite articulate it themselves, then delivers something better than they pictured.
She travels regularly for advanced education because she genuinely cannot imagine doing it any other way.
Where it all began
Heather’s story with West Coast started when she was fourteen, coming in with her mother and falling in love with everything she saw. She asked Linda if there was any way she could be part of it, and from that day forward her heart has always been here.
She is also a new mom, with three dogs and a cat waiting for her at home, and somehow still shows up every day with the same energy for her guests that she has for her own family.
Booking with Heather
Guests leave Heather’s chair knowing not just what their hair looks like, but why it looks that way and exactly how to maintain it. That confidence is what keeps them coming back.
Heather is welcoming new guests. Her schedule fills well in advance. We recommend booking early.
